The Barker Family
Harley, Darlene, Ruthie, and Wade Barker
ABOUT US
In 1993 we met in Southern Arkansas and were married soon after. We attended and served in ministry at New Covenant Fellowship with Pastor Jim and Susan Bolding as our pastors. Through the Lord's guidance, the summer of 1997 we moved to the mountains in Northwest Arkansas. We attended and served at Faith Christian Fellowship of Rogers in ministry and leadership under Senior Pastors Buddy and Amy for 13 years. In the Spring of 2010, we were blessed and released to serve God as an evangelistic ministry through Barker Outreach Ministry. In the Spring of 2010, we partnered with Senior Pastors Jeff & Kay Smith of Faith Family Church in Northwest Arkansas to establish a seed church that was sown out of Faith Christian Fellowship of Rogers, AR. Just another way that we can serve in taking the gospel to the world by serving within our own communities.
We have been licensed Ministers with Faith Christian Fellowship, Intl. since 2002. We were Ordained at the FCF Family Church Conference in June of 2009 by Founder and President, Pat Harrison and Vice President, Lonnie Hilton. We have been the Lead Ministers at Faith Christian Fellowship of Rogers Healing School since October 2008. The summer of 2007 Pastor Happy Caldwell of Agape Church in Littl Rock, AR asked Wade to be his assistant as President of Chariots of Light Christian Bikers for the South Central Chapter. In August of 2009, with Pastor Happy Caldwell's recommendation Dr. Jerry Savelle and Directors Bill & Ginger Horn blessed Wade and initiated him as the South Central Chapter President at the annual Presidents and Leaders meeting. The South Central Chapter covers Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Towards the end of 2009 God put it on our hearts to take what we are doing for Him through Barker Outreach Ministry to the next level. So we began the process of setting Barker Outreach Ministry up as a non-profit ministry thru Faith Christian Fellowship, Intl. We finalized the process at the beginning of 2010. So we are now able to function as an individual ministry with the advantages of being a part of a larger ministry of churches and leadership.
We, Wade and Darlene, were both raised up in Christian homes and received Christ as our Savior at young ages. Our son Harley was saved and baptized at the age of 5 and Ruthie was saved and baptized at the age of 7. We raise our children to have a personal, intimate, and daily relationship with God. We also serve in ministry as a family. Harley plays the guitar and is active in our local youth group. Ruthie is involved in children's ministry at church and loves to do Outreach Ministry. Some of the ways that she is involved in outreach is ministring to children at outreach booths by playing games with them, telling them stories thru color page activities, face painting, passing out tracts, etc. Through the years God has blessed us with family, friends, church, good jobs, and a ministry to serve Him through.
VISION
God has given us a vision and a desire to "Take Jesus to the People". He has given us a desire to take Jesus outside the four walls of the church to the people in the world. To reach out to people in the streets, in the biker world, and foriegn missions. It is our goal to minister healing and salvation to the lost and hurting. Also, with a focus of promoting the local community church by working with churches to develop relationships with people that we minister to in their area. We believe that the home church plays a very vital role in a persons walk and relationship with God.
At the beginning of 2010 we launched Barker Outreach Ministry thru FCF, Intl. to be able to better fulfill the call of God on our lives!
